Toshi is the time traveling protector of time, specifically NewYears, and has caught up with the ChronoRangers just in time to aid with their most challenging battle to date - ENTER CHRONOPLATINUM. ChronoPlatinum has the ability to access the powers of past 6th rangers using face changes (like the other rangers). In addition Toshi has some control over time in minute amounts, but not without consequence. Unlike the other ChronoRangers, Toshi doesn't remember what time he is from, but he is glad to finally have some help on the battle field. "What time is it? SET YOUR WATCHES, Jikan Sentai ChronoRanger STARTS NOW!"
Story By Omega-King-DX a "Despite the numbering on his chest, Toshi was the very first human being chosen to Become a ChronoRanger. He was taken from his present day back to the dawn of time (as he was needed there, and no other humans existed at the time), and became Chrono Platinum to fight of the current threat. However, being the first attempt at making a ChronoRanger, the Zero changer had a few...glitches. After his first use of the system, he was Displaced from the flow of time and was flung into a dimension that existed outside of time and space (if you ask him, he'd describe it as a white sand desert with streams of sand falling from the sky, kind of like the inside of an hourglass). This resulted in Toshi essentially becoming immortal; existing outside of time had caused his aging to stop, and he doesn't need to sleep or eat (though he still does whenever he gets the chance). After an unknown amount of time (he said it felt like a million years, but he isn't sure sense he was outside of time) he was able to modify the Zero Changer to act as a make-shift time machine, allowing him to open portals to various points in time and space. However, during his existence outside of time he had forgotten where and when he came from, and even his own name. At some point, he discovered that by existing outside of time for so long, he could only stay within it for exactly one year before being forced back out of time (unable to return for a lengthy duration. This is also when he adopted the name Toshi, as kind of a joke towards his own existence), and has been defending time as Chrono Platinum while doing so (he claims that he does it because he has nothing better to do, but he does legitimately enjoy it). He has spent countless lifetimes searching from the beginning of time up to the present day (as he is unable to go to the future by himself for some reason). Through the many years, he's squired a hobby of keeping a souvenir from every time he's been too in a large backpack that can hold a seemingly infinate amount of things; he even took a Shiny Rock (Diamond) that Dor found back when he was just a mere caveman, and the Blue Ranger resents him for this fact. Toshi has a very upbeat and cheerful personality, and similar to Elian he prefers to live in the moment and not worry about the future. Though that's just his outer layer, as he desperately wants to find when and where he came from. He knows he won't be able to return home, but he just wants to remember.
Toshi's time travel also works a bit differently from the Core Team of ChronoRangers. Where as the Core Team is able to tear open and repair tears in time (allowing them to travel to any point, including future events); Toshi just uses the Zero Changer to find and use what he calls "short cuts" in time that allow him to move between present and past (the short cuts take the form of a large, pure white glowing ChronoRanger Emblem that he walks through like a portal). Though at the end of his One Year Stay in a time period, the Short Cut that appears to remove him is more of a rusted color."

In terms of character traits and personality: I already mentioned his upbeat exterior and serious interior, as well as his rather large collection of objects. He also has a strange fascination with candy, as he always carries around some kind of treat on his person at all times. He also has an unusual and almost bizarre fascination with fireworks. His reason for this being: "It feels like some of my old memories come rushing back. But before I even realize it, they're gone. Kind of like me." To this end, he's hacked into the Zero Changer to cause his transformation and finishing attacks to look like fireworks.
